Sorry for the lack of posts, anyways the pens made a couple moves with the trade deadline approaching this week.
The first trade was with Dallas where the pens gave up defensman Alex Goligoski for James Neal who has 21 goals already this season as well as Matt Niskanen who you may remember fighting Crosby once before.
The pens also got Alexi Kovalev, the former penguin from Ottawa for an draft pick to be named.
WIth the Pens making moves and the trade deadline who knows whether or not they're finished making them. However, its obvious that Ray Shero and staff are trying to gear up for a Stanley Cup run this year. Who knows, maybe once we get Crosby, Kunitz, Comrie and the recently injured Brooks Orpik (Who will be out for 4 weeks with a broken hand) and get the new additions going, the pens will be stronger than last year.

For most of us the Steelers loss really hurts. But lucky for us were able to take off our jerseys and hang them up until next season. This guy has to wear them year round, win loss or tie.. That's a true fan. Tattoos are legit dude.
Comments!
Hey guys feel free to leave comments on the blogs or anything like that. Give feedback on some stories, ideas for new ones, whatever you want.
Matt Cooke's Dirty Hit On Fedor Tyutin
Alright Pens fans, this is starting to get rediculious. As if losing Malking, Crosby, Asham, Comrie, Letestu, and Kunitz wasn't enough, now the Pens have to deal with suspensions. In Tuesdays 4-1 loss to Columbus, Matt Cooke was penalized for a hit from behind on Fedor Tyutin. Cooke is going to be suspended for the next 4 games because of complete bullshit. If you watch the video you can clearly see that Tyutin turns around and sees Cooke coming, then turns around completely so that he can't see him. It's not looking too good.

Pens Game 2-8
The pens lost tonight 4-1 against Columbus. There isn't much to say about this one. They just didn't seem like they were really into the game.
NFL Lockout???
Okay so anyone who follows the NFL knows that a lockout is looming. The NFL and the NFLPA have not been able to come to an agreement on the details of the new collective bargaining agreement up to this point. Monday, the NFL and NFLPA issued a joint statment saying that they have scheduled meetings for the near future and are going to try to work out the kinks in the deal. However, players don't seem to be so confident. In an interview with 93.7 The Fan, Steelers RB Isaac Redman said that the lockout is "100% Definate." You can listen to the full interview at: http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/category/sports/
While the lockout isn't as definate as Redman claims, it would put a damper on sports in Pittsburgh for a while. Maybe it'll work out though since both of the times we went to the Superbowl in the last decade, the Steelers finished at or one game above .500 the following season and had a measly 0-1 record in the playoffs. Hopefully we don't have to endure a season without though because as good as the pens began the season, injuries seem to be taking their toll as proven in the loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.
Wiz & Mac Miller Tour
As promised, for those who are interested, Mac Millers tour dates are out. He is going mostly across the country but news is that him and Wiz are going to go on tour this March & April. According to his website, Mac and Wiz are going to be doing college venues that bring between 4000-6000 people. Chances are that one is gonna pop up around here with IUP, Slippery Rock, and Pitt Main all being in the area. But, if you want to see a show, see if you can get a couple thousand people at your school that'll reserve a seat and maybe you can get Mac and Wiz to do a show at your school. I can definately see Wiz and Mac doing a show at Greensburg lol.
Pens Game 1st Period
Okay people, the pens are playing tonight for those of you who follow. They play Columbus here in Pittsburgh. It's on FSN. No goals up to this point, but Lovejoy just got his ass whooped in a fight. Sorry. Scratch that, 1-0 Columbus thanks to Steve Nash.

To anyone actually following my blog, I have class until 6. But later check out a little piece on mac miller and where you can catch one of his shows.

Pens Update
It's late for anyone who's a Pens fan, but for those who follow lightly, Malkin is out for the season. He tore both his ACL and his MCL in his left knee. The Penguins have not given any kind of time table for a return, just that he won't return. But while were on the subject, I believe there is something strange going on with Crosby. He has missed an excessive number of games with his "concussion", don't be fooled, something else is wrong. The pens are only 3 points out of first in our conference, but with all of the injuries lately, it may not be out of the question to be nervous about the near future of out beloved pens.
Pitt Panthers
The #4 Pitt Panthers won again on Monday night. They beat #25 WVU down in West Virginia. The final score for the game Monday was 71-66. That brings their season record to 21-2 and if things fall right this week, Pitt will probably jump up to the #3 ranking, if not #2.
Pittsburgh Sound
Despite Lil Wayne's shot at Pittsburgh on the Green & Yellow jump, Wiz is still goin in. He actually has a movie soundtrack deal with Snoop Dogg coming up soon. Wiz and Snoop are making the soundtrack to a movie about smoking weed, who would of guessed? He's also going on tour with places all over the world including: Amsterdam, Canada, Paris and more. Check out Wiz's clothing line with GAME called "Taylor Made", the shirts seem pretty tough I like them. Finally, keep an eye out for his new CD. In an interiew in XXL magazine, Wiz said that he has stuff that's gonna be on his next CD that'll make Black & Yellow look like it's nothing. (P.S. Black & Yellow reached #1 on Billboard.com this week so saying that Black & Yellow is nothing, means this next CD's gonna be huge.)
Movie Review
Random Movie Review- Green Zone (Matt Damon 2010)
Good movie. 3/5 stars.
Good insight to events during the Iraq war and the real story behind Saddam Hussein's WMD program that most Americans STILL don't know. Good story line.

Steelers
So the one thing that's still lingering on everyones mind this Monday is the Steelers loss in Super Bowl XLV. I just want to get a few things clear about the game to ease the minds of our dedicated fan base. The truth of the matter is that as nice of a story the Packers were this season, the Steelers lost the game, the Packers didn't win it. The main issue for the Steelers was turnovers. The first interception was when Ben Roethlisberger had his arm hit as he was trying to throw the ball down field to Mike Wallace. The ball should have never been thrown. It ended up being double coverage (which Roethlisberger failed to realize) and when a team is on their own 5 yard line, they should be concerned with getting the first down, not the Touch Down. The second turnover was the fumble by Rashard Mendenhall when the Steelers had the oppertunity to take the lead for the first time in the game. Given that it was a good effort by the Packers defenders to dislodge the ball, the Steelers should have never lost that fumble. TE Davis and C Legursky stood there and acted as if the Steelers didn't want the ball. Finally the third turnover, another interception for Ben thrown into double coverage, was when Mike Wallace failed to attack the ball and make the reception. Instead, Bush made a break on the ball for the interception. All three turnovers were results of Steelers miscues, not Packers breakthroughs. Next was the Penalties. It seemed as though the refs swallowed thier whistles for the first half of the game being as though Green Bay didn't have a penalty in the first half and the Steelers had 5 penalties for 40 yards (all of which were in crucial situations). Aside from the turnovers and penalties, the Packers lost the game. 3 Turnovers resulting in 21 points. The final score could have been 25-10 Steelers without the miscues, however, it is a part of the game. The next thing that I don't think most people realize was the uncharacteristic game from our defense. 0 Turnovers is the most important stat. During the season the Steelers relied on turnover in many occasions but the lack there of in Green Bay lost the Game.
